Whitney KenneyProgram Manager/InstructorWhitney Kenney is a graduate of NHI San Francisco and has been a CAMTC-certified massage therapist since 2011. Her love of and interest in alternative health drew her to NHI’s holistic philosophy, and upon graduation she dove hands-first into the spa industry by working at the SF Bay Club. In 2013, Whitney traveled to India and studied Ayurveda at the Sivananda Institute of Health, focusing primarily on lymphatic massage. As a health educator, Whitney’s passion is to share the preventative health benefits of massage therapy through the blissful balance of mind and body. She currently maintains a small practice in Redding with North State Ayurveda. When she isn’t in the classroom, you will find Whitney out exploring the wondrous natural beauty that Redding and its surrounding areas have to offer! “Certain things in life will catch your eye, but only a few will catch your heart. Pursue those.” – Indian ProverbPaul KonicekInstructorPaul began his career in manual therapy when he graduated from NHI Sacramento in 2012. His training at NHI opened up a new world in helping others through touch, and fueled his desire to learn more. After taking classes in orthopedic bodywork, he continued on to become a Certified Rolfer at the Rolf Institute of Structural Integration, Boulder Colorado. Outside the classroom, Paul has been practicing Rolfing SI at his private practice and is continuing his education in visceral manipulation through the Barral Institute. He also enjoys working in his organic gardens, yoga and hiking in the mountains around the Redding area. “One of the deep secrets of life is that all that is really worth the doing is what we do for others.” – Lewis Carroll.Nathan GilliamInstructorNathan Gilliam holds CA certification in massage therapy as well as national certification in personal training. He graduated with honors and a letter of excellence from the NHI core program and has studied both sports medicine and physical therapy. His passion for massage started while studying sports medicine in junior college where the athletic trainer would use various forms of eastern modalities to treat pain and dysfunction in the athletes. “The human body is such an amazing structure with so much to tell, all we have to do is figure out what its saying and we are able to help it. It is an honor to have the opportunity to work as part of a team to further the massage therapy field. Education is something that I am extremely passionate about and having the ability to share that passion is phenomenal!”Juliane CarrilloInstructorJuliane Carrillo graduated as a Certified Massage Therapist from Silicon Valley College in Fremont, CA in 2002. Her connection to massage was so natural that she returned to her alma mater as a teacher’s assistant and instructor. Her intuitive nature for reading the body allows Juliane to incorporate her love of energy work, Shiatsu, and trigger point therapy into each session depending upon the client’s needs. She is also extremely passionate about helping athletes maintain health through sports massage. Juliane has worked in many facets of the massage industry including spas and corporate chair, and she ran a successful private practice in the East Bay before relocating to Redding and joining Massage Envy as Lead Therapist. Juliane served in the U.S. Navy, is a Lay Counselor with Cornerstone Fellowship in Livermore, and mother to a beautiful daughter. She loves paddle boarding, collecting roosters, and pizza! When not reading about or working her passions, Juliane loves spending time with family, friends, and the great outdoors. She is honored to be part of the NHI family and the education of future massage therapists. "Let the beauty of what you love be what you do." –Rumi
